BEHIND THE SCENES - Triumph True Originals

Shot over seventeen days across six U.S. landscapes, Triumph's recent global campaign ‘True Originals Never Settle’ was their most ambitious one to date. Brought to life by director Nick Dean and produced by Mojave Productions, featuring a lineup of 16 models from Triumph’s Modern Classics range.
This was a true American road trip from the mountains of Utah, down through the southern deserts, and back up into the high country of Colorado. Along the way, we passed through some of the most iconic landscapes of the American West: cowboy country, Native lands, forgotten desert towns, and eventually the legendary racing grounds of Pikes Peak.
It’s the energy of a journey like this that ultimately comes to life on screen. We had a crew made up of some of the most talented individuals from around the world, traveling thousands of miles with motorcycles, cameras, and gear in tow. One day we were stopping at alien jerky outposts in the middle of the Utah desert in 110-degree heat, a few days later, we were riding through snowfall in the alpine mountains of western Colorado.
From a production standpoint, trips like this are a logistical nightmare. Every day brings a new location, a new environment, and a new challenge. But that’s also where the magic happens- in the dirt, dust, sweat, and the ice-cold drink shared between the crew after finally nailing the shot.
And really, that experience isn’t so different from what riders feel on a journey like this. A group of friends, a person and their Triumph, crossing America together. Dirt, dust, weather, challenges, unexpected moments and, well, life.
We’ve always believed the only way to truly capture that feeling on screen is to go out there and live it for real. The Triumph team shares that same sentiment: that same lust for life, adventure, and motorcycles.
We felt that passion for Triumph everywhere we went. In a small town in the southern Utah desert, an older gentleman pulled up on his pristine 1971 Triumph. A loyal owner and lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, he quickly became one of the crew.
That’s the thing about motorcyclists. They’re good people- and sometimes the best way to get to know someone is with a motorcycle underneath them.
Kevin Hughes, Creative Director at Drummond Central, who has worked closely with Mojave over the years, shared:
"Mojave brought energy and fantastic attention to detail. They helped us push the scale of the idea while keeping it grounded and believable. And Nick has this ability to create something cinematic without losing the grit and honesty of real riding- real roads, real light, real riders. That combination is exactly what the campaign needed."
The result was a production that ran smoothly, supported the crew, and delivered the high standard we set for ourselves. Something we’re all very proud of.
