BEHIND THE SCENES- ASICS Get the Glow

Reflecting on the experience, DOP Matty Ower shared:
“100 degrees, Multiple courts, athletes, units, three cameras, a crane, a dolly, op stations and enough gazebos to host a mini burning man festival.
Rather than trying to over-engineer every setup, we focused on creating the right conditions for good work to happen and staying flexible when things inevitably changed. Once the foundations were there, everyone had the freedom to move, adapt and keep the day flowing. Some of the best ideas on a shoot this size come from giving good people room to do what they’re good at, which is a pleasure to be a part of.
The crew were weapons. The G&E teams threw up a big beauty box on a desert tennis court while standing in what felt like the world’s largest hair dryer. Watching them build out our frames and fixtures under a Palm Springs sun that seemed personally offended by the idea was immense.
The Mojave team did an incredible job getting the wheels up to speed and keeping them there. With athletes, schedules, locations and multiple units moving at once, the calm atmosphere on set was slightly misleading given how much was being coordinated behind the scenes. Things always turned up where they needed to, usually right before someone asked for them. That’s not luck. That’s a good production team earning their dinner.
A pleasure to be a small spoke of the wagon wheel on this alongside the Chisel, ASICS & Mojave teams.”
A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life. We’re proud to have supported such an ambitious production and collaborated with a team that brought creativity, adaptability, and dedication to every stage of the process.
